The Light at the End of the Tunnel

We don’t know about you, but our team is feeling the pandemic fatigue. The thing that gets us through it more than anything is remembering all the wonderful things that lie ahead when it’s all over. Our team chatted about what we are looking forward to most, and here are just a few of the things we are most excited about doing when the storm has passed and the world opens up again.

-Ringing the doorbell at my aunt and uncle’s house, stepping inside the door, and hugging my aunt and uncle! After a year of entering the backyard by side gate and calling to each other through masks across the yard, I can’t wait for that moment!

-Finally getting to hug my siblings after having to distance from them and worry about them all year long. The first moment of really reuniting will be absolutely beautiful.

-Walking into an indoor restaurant and hearing that first pleasant buzz of voices, laughter, and silverware clinking. Knowing that I get to be a part of that buzz and relaxing into the atmosphere will be a welcome change from takeout on the couch!

-Watching a show in a room full of excited people all looking forward to the same performance, and enjoying every moment with the rest of the audience- laughing, clapping, dancing, or singing along. Feeling like one part of a collective group who all appreciates the same things I do.

-Opening my front door to see your friends and family, who have come to join me for meals, drinks, movies, and plenty of relaxed in-person conversation that doesn’t need to be yelled over wind, masks, and distance!

-Attending group fitness and yoga classes indoors in the gyms and studios I used to enjoy. Feeling the motivation that only others can bring to exercise that really makes me want to push myself to be even better than the day before.

-Sitting down in at a bar next to someone I don’t know and striking up a conversation, just because we happen to be sitting next to each other. Sitting next to someone at all will be a great change!

-The entire experience of going on a trip, from traveling by car, train, plane, or bus, to arriving at the destination, checking into somewhere I’ve never been, and exploring a locale outside my living room! The world is waiting for us- national parks, big cities, small towns, theme parks, new countries… the possibilities are endless.

The tunnel has been long, and we’re not out quite yet, but never forget that there is a light at the end of it, and it gets closer every day!
